Orchids are one of my most pleasurable passions. I get so excited every time I see a new shoot that promises lovely orchid blooms, especially if they are fragrant blooms!
I think some people misunderstand that the beautiful flower is delicate so growing orchids must be difficult. I promise you it is not. Orchids are incredibly hardy, and can endure challenging climates. They will survive your passionate attempt to grow them at home.

Flowering orchids make the best gifts, whether cut stems or as plants. The blooms on cut stems are remarkable for how long they can last. I once had a friend give me purple orchid cut stems for my birthday in September. I believe they were dendrobium orchids. I kid you not….these blooms lasted until January.
